MY TIMES WITH THE BOYS
1999
May 28th
Brussels, Belgium
It had been way to long again since we had met our boys. We were getting backstreethome-sick so we really wanted to see them again. As soon as we found out that the boys were coming ova to Europe and that they would start out their European Tour in Belgium (which is rught under Holland, by the way, for us just about an 2 hour drive :-P), we started planning. The last time they started in Belgium we heard that they had been there a week before to rehears. That time we found out to little to late......but THIS time, we would be there!!
Easier said then done offcourse. How do ya find out when and when they will arrive and stuff? I can tell ya, we did some majure puzzling those weeks, and thanks to Tommy's webside (2 bad ya had to leave the boys :-( ), we got the latest info. Untill the weekend before they would get here we thought they would first go to frankfurt for a german thingy. So that meant they would be able to come by bus or by plane. Then late that weekend we saw on Tommy's site that that trip had been cancelled. So we finally, after considering the timedifference and the time of the flight and stuff, figured they would arrive the 28th. We had found out the Hotel weeks ago, 'cause it was allready booked (we knew some names to ask for...not the baxx offcourse). So that day we waited in front of the Hotel the whole morning and a big part of the afternoon. Busses were driving by every few minutes and we were just looking out for the Euro-Tour bus. Then, late in the afternoon, this bus stopped at the Hotel. It was like a tourist one and Cee went:"Look!!"...and I was like:"No,...thats not the one"..Cee:"I could swear I just saw Howie get off"..Me:"No...look..its just a bunch of Chinese People"..We went to check just to make sure and we tried not to freak out when we saw the Backstreet Boys get off the bus. There was NO security...NO fans...just us...like...we had been doing this for some years now....but...OMG!!!!!! The thrill we got from actually have figured out when they would be where...it was SO KEWL!!!! We didn't even took any pix..we were like :"Black Out!" Brian looked sooo cute and then Kevin came out and OMG...talk about HOTHOTHOT. We sortoff woke up and asked Kevin for a Picture. He was soo sweet. They way he smiled and smelled and.....*sigh* It all happened so fast and we were a bit struck so I think I mentioned and asked him if he was tired from the yetlag and the long flight and yadieyadie more than once in a few minutes. He just smiled and said something that just went totally by me *staring* and he did that whole Rubbing Ya Back Thing again....like...AAHH
We went inside and watched them check in and stuff and saw some girls in the lobby..who..weirdly enough..did not do anything..they just sat there...probably thinking that that was cool or something. We waited then for the boys to coem back out again 'cause this other bus pulled up and the driver said he had to take them to the venue. So we met Kev, AJ, Dee and Bri. Nick was to fast for us. Especially Kev and AJ were so relaxed and took time for us and the other 5 girls who had shown up.

I had to work the next day, so we went back home that night.......only to come back again three days later in the weekend :-))
May 30st, 31st
Brussels, Belgium
We had rented a car as usual and got to Brussels very early. We did not book an Hotelroom, 'cause we did not know if we would get any sleep that night :-p We hung out at the Hotel and waited for the busses to get to the Hotel. Once the busses were there it would be a few more hours till the boys would show their pretty faces. Its a routine, its allways like that. Inside the Hotel it was crawling with security and they were kicking out everyone who did not have a room. We waited as long as possible and then got inside. Lucky enough the Little Chines guy who was looking at us all the time (so it felt) did not come to check our room key. hehe. So we got to stay and wait at the levator for the boys. First AJ came out and me and Cee got to take a pixie with him together. He was just being AJ...you know.."I'm kewl and I wear shades"..*lol*. Then Brian came out and he looked sooo cuuuuutee. He had this Big backsack with him that made him look so tiny ans sweet. A lot of the time Brian feels a bit uncomfortable when there is a crowd, so the BG walked with him all the way. He was nice though, saying Hi to everyone. Third Howie came down, but since we wanted Kev or Nick we just took a pixie and went back to our place again ...hehe..no offence Howie;-) Then Kevin came out and he looked like he was stoned or something, haha. But a gentleman as allways and he took the time out for pictures and auties. Finally Nick came out. We had not seen him yet so we like : "Oh, nick nick nick"..haha He was totally nice and in a good mood and he looked pretty hot. We then followed the little bus...like a van, to the venue. It was a bumpy ride 'cause they were going waaayyyy to fast...and so were we...:-/ Thanx to Cee's gr8 driving skills we got there in one piece..lol. We drove with them to the entrance, and they all gave us a wave and some :"Hi girls" again
That afternoon was way cool!!!It took a while before we got the nerve....because at first we were just waiting at the venue, on a parcing lot, a few feet away from the backentrance where the security and all were all hanging around. We could not see the entrance, but when we went to hung out against the wall beside the entrance I heard Nick talking. There was a little part with just a vence and Nick was standing there relaxing with some guys. Eventually, we went to hang out right in front of the backdoor, where the security were chilling out. There were some french girls there also but they doid not understand what the guys were talking about. So when the guys made some really funny jokes and we laughed, they were like. Heee..wait a minute,....you guys speak english. After that we just had some fun. Todd was telling this weird story and the mimick he did wre just so funny. We had this thing with him about killing all rabbits in belgium...(to long a storie) and while hanging out the Backstreet Boys just came outside once in a while. It was so kewl. AJ was just there, having a smoke and stuff. We heard which songs they were rehearsing and all....it was so kewl!
Then late in the evening the guys left. Brian and AJ got in a van and drove off.....and all those french girls ran off to get into their cars and follow them. We were the only once left. 3 of our friends had joined us so it was just the 5 of us. We asked if we could have a picture with Nick when he came out but we thought he would just jump in his van and go. But he didn't !!! He was hanging around inside and waving at us and being silly and then all of a sudane, he literaly JUMPED outside going : "Helloooooooooooo!!!"with this Huge grin on his face. I happened to be standing the closest and he just grabed me by my shoulder and I was like :"............" WOW!!! Nick was like: "Well....lets take some pictures" so I gave my cam to Cee and then I heard Howie right behind me, and he was like.."I wanna be in it too" It was so funny

We got to chat with them for a while and I finally got to ask Nick what that number thing was that je had going on in his "thank you's" in the Millenium CD-Book. He explained the foon thing but didnt wanna say what the line was. he sad we had to figure it out ourselfes with this cute grin on his face. This evening is one of our best times ever. It was so relaxed and he was so kind. There was no security pushing us around, they were just talking amongst themselfes....it was so kewl!!
The next day we saw them leave again for rehearsals. The security was bad. We went inside and sat down in the lobby with an old Keycard we had and that CHinese guy came over and asked us if we had a room. I said:"No, but we had one last night" (I was hoping he would not go and check...:-p ) but we had to leave anyways he said. So we went outside. We then checked this little sidedoor which was closed the day before. The door itself was, but the window, which was almost as big as the door, wasnt't. So we waited as long as possible and when we saw some action inside, we sneaked through the window. We got to take another picture with Kevin and we saw Nick who took some time to sign stuff. AJ and Brian just walked through and I don't remember Howie. We were hiding behind this corner every time a bsb had gone by, 'cause that weird Chinese guy was checking the whole place like, every second...hehe...we were so chicken (toktoktok) but at least we got to see the boys again. As they left so did we. The wednesday after that, we went to their FIRST concert of the Millenium tour in Gent (June 2nd Gent). The venue was very small and we had a blast. The show was so kewl. We thought we would not like that round ateg, but we loved it. There was so much going on. And that hanging on the ropes thing..WOW......We went to the show about 5 times and stood under Brian, Nick, Kevin 2 times, and once just at a distance (arena for 60.000 )....waaayyy Cooolll!!!!!!
June 5th
Amsterdam, Holland, Europe
Soon after the concert in Gent the boys came to Holland. Unfortunatly, soem Backstreet People decided that they boys would go straight to the venue and not to the Hotel first. So we waited there da whole day for nothin' (AAWWW) and went to the show in the evening. It was kinda kewl that they had a sold out show of 60.000 fans in sucha small country as Holland. But The sound was awfull and there was sunlight to long (stadion has an open roof). We were a bit dissapointed since we would just see them leave the next day and thisshow wasnt one of their best ones,.....but then, at the Hotel the next day we heard that the boys thought it was so awesome that they had sold out the place, it should be easy to sell out two more shows. So they anounced two extra dates in a venue for 13.000. The Ahoy stadium is really good with the sound and stuff so we were thrilled!!! We got to see some backstreet flashes the next day, thats all. But we wanted to see the show again, so we followed them to Germany, Colougn. We got to stand pretty close to the stage, like 8th row or so. Then when the show was finished, we had planned to just go home. But as we were in the car, getting something to drink, we saw the Euotour bus go by, with no traffic behind it. Cee just started the car and and turned and drove over this big grassthingy in between roads and we landed right behind the bus. You Go Girl!!!! (imagin when we follow with her own car...nothin'to mad for the BackstreetGirl...right Cee?? :-p) We followed the bus to the Hotel . It went to a side-entrance and all the girls were standing at the backside of the bus and against gates and stuff. I dont know why, because we walked around it and got to stand right in front of it. Me and Cee were standing there and AJ and Brian And Nick wre right there, The only thing between us was the glass window. Brian was carrying these two big bags and I waved to him, and said something (dont remember what) and he smiled and said something I could not hear and then he pulled this funny cute face and held up his bags to show us......still have no idea what it was about but WHO CARES!!...we LOVE him!!! :-))))Then Kevin came and hung out the door (they had to wait till the side-entrance was open and it really took about 10 minutes). We said"Hi again!!!" and "gr8 show"and all that. And he looked at us and was like...ow, its you guys again and smiled. In the few minutes while he was hanging there he actually made some funny faces (another side of Kevin we got to know....wow...a shocker ;-). It is weird 'cause after meeting them several times, this was one of those very kewl moments. It was like, just them and us for a while......that's the best moments!!!! When they got inside, we went home again.....ready to start counting down till the next two shows!
July 26th &27th
This time my Penpall from Poland came over to catch some of the dutch Backstreet Action. Again we rented a car and did some "waiting at the highway"action again. We had this small hope that maybe they would go to another Hotel this time 'cause it was so crowded in June. We didn't have to wait long 'cause the Euro Tour came by pretty fast. We followed them and they enede up at the same Hotel. At first it was just us but they had a bunch of German Follow cars behind them so...bumber :-/

So, that first day, we just saw them get off the bus. We did manage to give Kevin a lil' something. We bought him a bottle with soem alcoholic drink (dont remember which) to see how he would react. He was pushed on by his Bodyguard, but I gave it to him and said that it was something to wake him up (he looked like sh*t, so sleepy). He turned around going: "Hey, what is it?"...but before we could answer he was pushed to walk again. It was kinda funny to see his face....gheghe.
Later on that day, Nick and Mandy left by a lil' bus who would take them to the airport, because Mandy was flying home. Brian and AJ also left by cab to go somewhere. We didn't follow them because cabs are not easy to follow in Amsterdam.
The next day, which was a day off for the boys, we followed Brian and Nick, as they left with some golfclubs. The boys stopped at MacDonalds and after that they went to a golfcourt near Zandvoort. We asked them very nicely if we could take a picture with them. I had our group pixie with me, which was taken in 97 with all of us and Nick and Brian. Nick looked at it while signing and said:"sure, lets take one together" This way they only had to take one picture with us and we were all happy:-) I thought that that was nice of 'em. We know that they don't allways feel like taking pictures an signing stuff. But then again, if we don't try, we don't get any.
We lost them when we tried to follow them to the golfcourt, but we have this little book, with every Hotel in Holland in it, and it also has other facilities in it. So I looked for a golfcourt nearby, and we found one. We found it pretty fast and theyr bus was standing right there. We looked for a place where we could see them, and from a distance we could see them putting away :-)
After a while we decided to go back to the Hotel, and we got there just in time to see Kevin who signed some auties outside. It was very crowded by now, but he just stood there, all relaxed, signing away. I gotta tell you, if you ever get Kevin Upset or mad, you must have done something REALLY awfull, cause the guy is just mega laid back
The next day, we didn't get much Backie action. We followed Brian who left on his own in their Tour-bus. He went to a designers office of Tommy Hilfiger. And while we were waiting outside with a few other fans, Brian was getting soem free shopping time cause when he came out he had a bag with him which was stuffed with TH stuff and other guys were also carrying bags. Brian was very nice to us, but unfortunatly my pictures of him outside got messed up. :-/ I think I got a lil' Brian-struck cause they were all out of focus....gheghe
The concert that night was gr8. We stood right under Kevin during Quit playing games. And the show just kicked ass. During the part where the boys introduce the band, some blow-up toys were thrown on stage. What happened then was so funny. They were all goofing around and there was so much going on on stage that we needed an extra pair of eyes to follow it all. They had Beach-Balls, big blow up lollypops, which they were chasing eachother with. They had big blow up Lips, blow up Harts, blow up Flintstone-Knots and whatever!! It was so funny. AJ was introducing and got hit in the head by something and went:"Jezus ,man, what is with all these toys???" Real funny!
The next day we only saw AJ and Brian, who went golfing again. We lost them at the Hotel allready, but we just drove to the same MacDonalds as Brian and Nick had gone to. They van was standing there so we got to see them again. After that we went back to the hotel because we still hadn't seen Kevin that much (we all love Kevin, me, Cee and Nettie) But nothing much happened. When the boys left that afternoon for the show, we lost their tourbus so we just went straight to the venue for the concert.
The last day, we managed to follow Kevin when he left by himself in a van. It stopped somewhere by the road and because Nettie had to fly back to Poland that day and did not have her picture with Kevin yet, she decided to go and ask if she could talk to Kevin. She walked up to the bus and his bodyguard (I forgot his name) put his hand up, like, no we wont talk to you, go away. Then Nettie said. "plz, let me tell you something" and the BG went:"NO..let Me tell YOU something" and he went on about how the guys could not even do some shopping with us following them and blablabla. All that time Kevin was sitting behing the BG listening to the whole thing. Net was like close to crying, not believing that she was so close to Kevin now, and that she had to leave in an hour or so, and still would not have met him again! She again said that she came al the way from Poland, and that all she wanted was one picture with Kevin, and that we would leave them alone after that. Then Kevin said it was cool and he got out of the van!!!!!! Net called us over and we were like..."no way..how did you do that? " The four of us got to take a picture with Kevin. It was kinda funny, because the van was parked next to a high vence. It had a sign on it with "just painted", so I said net and Kev had to watch out because the vence was still wet. Then Kevin checked it by touching the vence. I know it sounds stupid, but it was so sweet. He, like, pulled Net a bit closer so she wouldn't touch the vence and then checked if it was still wet....which it wasn't by the way. When we all had our turn, we went back to our car and left them alone. The BG actually thanked us for that and said it was very cool. But it WAS all we wanted...just one picture with Kevin. we're not like stalkers or anything. We do know when not to bother. Like with Brian an Nick, when they were playing golf, we could have gone up to them and stuff while they were playing, but that's just not cool. You kinda have to know how far you can go. And I dunno about others, but I think we got that down.
Me and Kevin on the last day. Actually...it was the last time we met any of them. We've BaXX-less for 2 years now :-(
After this meeting with Kevin we took Nettie to her meeting point and said goodbye to her. Then we went back to the Hotel and we were just in time to see Kevin come back again. He then gave every single fan there and autograph. His BG got us all to stand on one side, and there were a LOT of fans....and he just signed something for everyone....it was amazing. That evening we went home again. That was the last time we had met them. They haven't been in Europe since then. AJ and Howie came to Germany once, but I was on Holiday then, and we wouldn't have gone there for just AJ and Dee anyways. Adn offcourse the MTV Awards in Sweden, but that is just a little bit to expensive, to just fly over. So, after almost 2 years now, we are still waiting. We know they will bring their new Tour over this year. Offcourse, as allways, it got postponed a few times, so instead of May, and then June, then September...they will now come over in November and December....we just can't wait!!!!!!!!
